SANG MEE FOUNDATION

The Sang Mee Foundation was established by Mrs. Mesung Lee in 2003 to make Korean items available to the people of Michigan. These items, available to rent and use, include Korean books, games, music CDs, 50 musical instruments, 100 hanboks and a set of traditional wedding garments.

These items have been donated by various benefactors who would like to increase knowledge of Korea among residents of the state, and who would like to make it possible for Korean-Americans and others interested in Korean culture to wear traditional Korean garments for their weddings and other celebrations, to learn to play Korean musical instruments, and so on.

The Foundation not only makes these items available, but also provides a connection between the people in Korea who donated the items and those in Michigan who use them. The items are available to rent by individuals, schools, families and groups in Michigan, such as the Korean Culture Camp of Eastern Michigan. for which Mrs. Lee contributes her time and energy.

The Sang Mee Foundation rents some items free, but charges replacement costs if damaged or lost. See the list below for the rental policy for each type of item.

For more information on renting these items, call Mrs. Mesung Lee at 517-332-1812 and leave a message.

Do It Now
I expect to pass through this world but once.
Any good thing, therefore, that I can do
or any kindness that I can show
to any fellow human being,
let me do it now.
Let me not defer nor neglect it;
for I shall not pass this way again.
